Vincent Tang

    Violin Tutor, Performer

Biography

Born and raised In Ipoh, Perak, Vincent started building his musical foundation when he was a child. He started to play the piano at the age of 10 and the violin at the age of 11. He completed his ABRSM Grade 8 piano practical exam in 2014 under the tutelage of Miss Joyce Teoh and ABRSM Grade 8 violin practical exam in 2015 under the tutelage of Miss Veronica Leong. Soon, he obtained his first diploma in piano performance in 2016 under the tutelage of Mr. Peter Lim and his Associate Diploma (ATCL) in Violin under the tutelage of Miss Lim Soon Lay.


Currently, Vincent is undergoing his Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.) in Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) with a major in violin.  He had his first experience with the orchestra when he was in secondary school, which is the Sam Tet Symphony Orchestra (STSO). He joined several competitions and music festivals with the orchestra such as Hong Kong International Youth Music Festival, Ipoh Music Festival, 21st Century International Arts Festival, National Music Arts Festival, Red Sonata Fiesta and Malaysia International Music Arts Festival (MIMAF). He also actively performed in gigs and participated in competitions such as Euroasia Strings Competition as a member of a string quartet.


Vincent is now an active player in the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC) orchestra. He also serves as the concertmaster of UPM symphony orchestra now.
